The Music Currently, there are two string quartets under the proverbial quill (really, it's more under the cursor). These both have a somewhat rhythmic-based theme to open, then wander off from there. As both seem to be coming along swimmingly, I cannot say which I will finish first.
I recently aquired some new software to help facilitate the writing process. It is the Finale PrintMusic program. The previous software was acquired for me by a friend under less-than-legitimate means and the save function was disabled. This made revisions something of a nightmare. The new program has fewer features, which I really didn't need anyway, but is just as easy to use and has more realistic sounds during playback. Needless to say, I am quite happy with it and the progress it has facilitated. |

My Influences While I thoroughly enjoy classical era music, as well as some from later eras, I have been most strongly influenced by the music of the baroque era. Some of my more powerful influences are as follows:
J.S. Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, Telemann, D. Scarlatti, Soler, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Paganini, and Orff.
While I am partial to string music, it is not exclusive. There will be other types of composition in the future. But, for now, I plan to concentrate on just strings.
Check back here occassionally for updates on the progress. |
